Annarosa Muscatelli
Senior Consultant
Previously the Philanthropy Manager (Health) at University College London (UCL), Annarosa was responsible for soliciting both lifetime and legacy donations from alumni, grateful patients and supporters through face-to-face meetings and written applications to trusts and foundations. In her role at UCL, Annarosa secured over £2.5m in philanthropic income and worked on UCL’s £600m It’s All Academic Campaign.
Annarosa began her career in fundraising as a student caller at the University of Glasgow in 2009, before then becoming a CASE Graduate Trainee. Her experience in advancement spans major giving, leadership giving and regular giving, as well as events and stewardship. She is a firm believer in the power of collaboration in advancement, with the office being greater than the sum of its parts. One of her favourite quotes, often cited by Dr Lori Houlihan (former UCL Vice-President (Advancement)), is the African Proverb; ‘If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together.’
Having worked with donors and volunteers across the globe, and organised events internationally, Annarosa has experience in working with many different cultures and countries.
Outside of work, Annarosa channels her love of art by designing Christmas cards and other artwork, which she sells to raise money for charity.
What inspires Annarosa to think big?
‘There are so many people that inspire me to think big, my former boss and colleague Dr Lori Houlihan remains a big inspiration to me. As a young woman starting my career, it was refreshing to see someone lead with such authenticity, kindness, and honestly - this has remained with me.
I have always wanted to, in a small way, change the world – to leave it a better place than it was when I got there. You can only achieve this by doing things whole-heartedly.
"Never do anything by halves... Be outrageous. Go the whole hog."’
– Matilda, Roald Dahl
